Reversing Fibrosis

What is Fibrosis?

Fibrosis is the stiffening or scarring of organs due to over-production of collagen-type molecules. Most organs can be impacted by fibrosis including lung, kidney, liver, skin, eyes and heart.

Fibrosis is a major component of  many chronic diseases and is strongly associated with aging.

Curing disease with IRAP inhibitors

Major fibrotic diseases include chronic kidney disease, idiopathic lung fibrosis and non- alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).

Inosi’s novel small molecule inhibitors have been shown to reverse age- mediated cardiac and renal fibrosis, and improve organ function in aged mice. The compounds have also been shown to reverse fibrosis in other fibrotic disease models including cardiac, lung  and liver fibrosis.

The compounds target IRAP, an aminopeptidase and the company holds a strong IP position in the field.
